• Director of Childcare

  York Country Day School is seeking a full-time Director of Childcare to lead various childcare programs.  The Director leads and contributes to an exceptional learning environment for students from preschool to Grade 12 and ensures compliance with all applicable childcare regulations.  The Director of Childcare participates fully in the life of the school, including collaborating with the team in a mission-driven environment.
  
  

  Looking for an experienced, highly qualified, and energetic individual as an addition to the YCDS staff for the 2024-2025 school year.
  
  

  The Director of Childcare will be responsible for working with staff and students from preschool to Grade 12.
  
  The following are the responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Maintain a safe and positive after-school environment for the York Country Day School Community
  • Maintain records of students and billing information
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable childcare regulations
  • Provide and lead active, creative, meaningful programming for children in childcare; more specifically, children should be outside on a regular basis, and when inside, engaged in artistic and fun activities and enjoying their after-school time in a safe and healthy environment
  • Administering finances, personnel, maintenance, meal planning, and preparation
  • Administering the program planning, objectives, and activities
  • Designating a staff person who is responsible for compliance in the Director's absence
  • Written evaluation of staff persons on a regular basis, a minimum of one evaluation every 12 months

  Experience and Education Required

  •  A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children
  • Certification in CPR and pediatric CPR and other specialty safety areas is required

• Middle/Upper School Theatre Teacher - Long-Term Substitute

  York Country Day School seeks a dynamic and dedicated Theatre teacher to join the faculty as a long-term substitute during a portion of the 2024-2025 school year.
  
  Beginning two weeks prior to the start of the associated teacher’s leave of absence, the long-term substitute teacher will teach courses in Theatre for grades 6-12. The approximate start date will be in March 2025. Exact start and end dates will be determined closer to the service window.  The assigned courses include Stagecraft, Acting, Musical Theatre, Improvisation, Scene Study, Lights & Sound for Theatre, and Audition Techniques.
  
  The ideal candidate will be able to teach Middle & Upper School theatrical skills, including character building, technical theatre, production design, acting techniques, scene development, voice, blocking, and improvisation. In addition, the candidate should be able to foster critical thinking skills, engage students in classroom discussions, and promote active, student-centered learning. 
  
  The ideal candidate should possess at minimum an undergraduate degree in Theatre, English, Education, or a related field.  Candidates should have teaching experience and be an excellent communicator and collaborator.

• Part-Time Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach

  The Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at York Country Day School is responsible for assisting the planning and directing the conditioning, training, and performance of our student athletes, for our girls’ basketball program.
  
  This position reports to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics. This assistant coaching position and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of York Country Day School and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). 
  
  Basketball coaching experience at a high school or equivalent is preferred.
